Artist Daniel James Hill shares his series of large abstract paintings created during his residency with the Brantford Arts Block. Using a combination of found imagery, abstract forms and color placement, Hill creates a vibrant and emotional display of multileveled textured paintings exploring the collaboration of a subconscious creative process and personal experiences.

Ranging from emotions of love and fear to ideas of spirit, memory and change, Hill’s ideas of finding color within an other wise empty space is a testament to the possibilities of our own potential to discover movement and beauty in simplicity. The use of sculptural application techniques of acrylic paints lends to the Idea of our multi-faceted experiences. Using a limited palette the artist creates harmonious compositions sure to instill a sense of appreciation of the abstract.

Opening is Friday July 30 with opening reception at 7:00 the exhibition closes August 31. Come enjoy the art, schmoose and enjoy refreshments and live sound abstractions created for the event by Roan Bateman and Paul Copoc.
